            In the past, South Pattaya used to be called “Pongpat2” or “Street of Fire”, which is offered a lot of pubs and bars. Later, it is changed to offer more family places so those pubs are reduced. Besides the beer bars and the restaurants, South Pattaya is also the location of Bali Hai harbor. It is the harbor for taking the travelers to go to Koh Lan, which is far from South Pattaya about 7 km. (take only about 45 minutes). The service starts from 7.00 am. to 6.30 pm. everyday. The tour group or family can take the speed boat to go to Koh Lan by spending only 15 minutes.

            The street of South Pattaya is connected from Central Pattaya . There’s no place for swimming and playing playthings in this part because there’re many restaurants, shops, walking street, and Bali Hai harbor along the beach until the end of Tappraya Mountain, which the monument of Kromluang Chumporn Ket Udomsak is situated. Tappraya Mountain is also being the popular place to see the most beautiful view of Pattaya.

            In the day-time, South Pattaya is very quiet. Most of the travelers prefer having fun and taking a rest at the other beaches so there’re only shops and restaurants open at this time. However, when it turns to the night-time, South Pattaya is quite energetic with a lot of travelers (so different from the day-time). The well-known place in South Pattaya is the walking street, which takes about 50 meters along the street. There’re many brand name shops, restaurants, and beer bars & pubs, which are most popular for the travelers from the other countries.

            At the end of South Pattaya, there is one place to see the view in Tappraya Mountain. This place is the monument of Kromluang Chumporn Ket Udomsak, turns his face into the sea. You can see all the views of Pattaya from this place. It’s opened all day until at night.
